Subject: Update for Oro-Medonte residents: Annexation for Industrial Lands
Please see the attached note about the proposed annexation of land along Penetanguishene Road by the City of Barrie for industrial lands. Approximately 50% of the lands are zoned EP – environmentally protected. Further, the lands are adjacent to low density residential development in the City of Barrie. It is difficult to understand how this could possibly be proper planning as there are far better sites for the industrial development that are setback away from residential neighbourhoods and away from environmentally sensitive lands.
We will send you more information as it becomes available. Staying informed is the important part of ensuring that proper planning decisions are made.
