WORA
Welcome to our website!
We were founded in 2003 by a group of individuals who came together to oppose a major development that threatened to harm our environment and compromise our quality of life.
Since then, we have made a great many strides to protect our precious landscape. Today we represent the voices of close to 300 residents of Oro-Medonte and continue to grow in strength. WORA boundaries cover Wards 3 and 4 of Oro-Medonte Township in the Simcoe Region of Ontario.
We believe that with our collective voice, we can make a difference.
Please explore our site, learn more about our achievements, and how you can join us.
With your support, we will be successful in protecting the rural ambiance of Oro-Medonte and our natural features, including the quality of Lake Simcoe, and our drinking water, for future generations.

Our Mission:
To work in cooperation with resident and conservation groups to promote responsible planning and sustainable development that protects the quality of life in the township of Oro-Medonte and the environmental sensitivity of Lake Simcoe. While our focus is on broad, communitywide issues, we engage with and support local community action groups.
